Digital & Print

Identity today includes all publications, digital and print. I believe that these avenues need to complement and not compete with each other.

The Digital World
Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Safe Routes to School is known for its robust education and community outreach programs. It was looking for a clearinghouse solution for its curriculum and outreach materials. The website was designed to make content easily accessible by the volunteers, community members, Board of Directors, and staff. Including a landing page for donations and the recruitment of volunteers, proved to be valuable. The organization's tagline, "Moving the Community," is evident in all relevant messaging.
Print Publications
Los Gatos Union School District distributes an annual report each spring. The publication is designed in-house and sent to the greater Los Gatos community. They were looking to use images of actual students, staff, and community supporters. Working with teaching staff and school support personnel, I was able to capture pictures of students and faculty in action without disruption to the school day. Each photo selected depicts the school district in action. This annual report has set the standard for print and digital publications going forward.

Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Safe Routes to School (SR2S) expanded its outreach in 2012 to include a print newsletter that was distributed through the local school sites. The newsletter featured the collaborative work of volunteers, the Town of Los Gatos, and the schools. Those early newsletters helped to drive support, both in dollars and volunteer hours. In the fall of 2017, the SR2S Board of Directors was looking to update the look and outreach. The print newsletter was recast into the Footnotes format with the help of a local graphic design student. The modern look and format were both print and digital- friendly and generated new interest in learning more about the organization.
