Los Gatos Union School District
In 2018 the Los Gatos Union School District launched a social media presence with the Superintendent's Twitter account. The following year it rolled out additional outreach through Facebook and Instagram. Content is carefully curated to share the District's philosophy of "Educating the Whole Child'. Right from the Start
Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Safe Routes to School's Right from the Start campaign was a comprehensive effort to encourage students and families to embrace active and alternative transportation from the first day of school. Each message set the stage for the encouragement to use alternative transportation. It was staged to begin in the spring to incoming kindergarten families, then roll-out to continuing students and families a few weeks before the start of school. The campaign included pedestrian and bicycle safety education in September and was capped off with the Annual Walk & Bike 2 School Week. Student travel tallies indicated a 3% increase in alternative transportation over the previous year. Below are some of the materials developed for the campaign.
